Question…

is dental care and cosmetic dentistry cheap in america than in the uk?

Answers…

Answer by Cody
I lived in the UK last year, and it cost me 15 pounds to get my teeth checked out and cleaned by a hygienist. Basically the same as my co-pay was back in the states.

I was covered in the UK, as I was a student.

I think not considering UK healthcare is cheap for citizens. America is known for expensive health care.

It is a bit cheaper than the USA, but there is a lack of NHS dentists in the UK and it is expensive to go private.

Cheaper? Well depends on how you look at it…currently it is (technically) more expensive in the USA but it is FAR superior work here in the states than in the UK. When you generalize healthcare (like in the UK & Australia), quality doctors/dentist become harder to come by and outrageously expensive to afford. This is why Americans are known for their beautiful & healthy teeth!

Basic dental care is cheaper in the UK. Cosmetic dentistry is about the same or a little cheaper in the US. If you want inexpensive, high quality dental care, the place to go is eastern Europe, especially Hungary. Hungarian dental schools turn out highly qualified dentists, and “dental tourism” is a large and growing business.

Mexico is another place with a lot of dental tourism. A substantial number of Mexican dentists have been trained in the US. Of course, the Mexican political situation is “unsettled” to say the least, so that’s a possible problem. If you want to look into Mexican dentistry, I would suggest you work with a packager to make the travel and dental care arrangements.
